A Vision for Zionsville
John Stehr has been a trailblazer and a leader who has never backed away from asking hard questions and fighting for the rights of people to be informed and to play a role in shaping their community.
A proven sustained winner, John is ready to begin the important work of Zionsville Mayor, so that together, we can ensure that the future generations of our town can truly say that they love Zionsville as much as we do today.
Restore faith in town government by getting our finances in order. The "buck stops" with the Mayor. We need to clean up our accounting systems and re-engage with a municipal financial consultant to help guide us, so that the Town Council has the transparency and information it needs to make appropriate decisions for the people it represents.
Zionsville is among the fastest-growing communities in Indiana. We need to make sure that public safety stays ahead of the growth by providing the people, training, and equipment needed to keep our families safe.
Provide a vision, and build consensus, to help Zionsville be more effective in claiming our share of Central Indiana’s economic activity.
Support sustainable growth, while preserving the small-town charm and character that is uniquely ‘Zionsville’.
People have been clear that they want a Community Recreation Center. We need to find a way to give it to them by putting together a public-private partnership that can build and sustain a center that will have the potential of touching every person in Zionsville… from infant swimming classes to hydrotherapy, exercise and social opportunities for our seniors and everyone in between.
Move forward with plans to rebuild the southern entrance to the village in a way that enhances the Brick Street business district by building a consensus among the town, neighbors, land owners, and private businesses that all have a stake in the property.
